Cy

For November, Cy will be the heroine of our tale.
This is her, though far older than where her story begins. She comes from a very supportive family in Parisyne who desperately wants her to become a weather mage because that will get her a secure future as a port hand, something that is always in short supply.
A port hand, or a port mage, are mages that can control storms and stop them long enough to bring in fishing boats from the sea for safety. Some are hired by specific ships for protection, and in times of war they are oftened hired by naval forces to send ships crashing into the enemy lines, or protect from enemy port mages.
Cy's family believes that if she studies hard enough, will become one and will want for nothing. They have failed to take into account that magical people are born with talents leaning towards only certain types of magic, and that no matter how hard they study they cannot learn something they are not inclined towards.
